Bram Platel studied Biomedical Engineering at the University of Technology in Eindhoven from which he graduated cum laude in 2002. In February 2007 he obtained his Ph.D. at the Biomedical Image Analysis group on multi-scale feature selection and image registration.From 2007 until June 2010 Bram worked at the Maastricht University Medical Centre, where as an assistant professor he led the Image Guided Surgery group focussing on image analysis for neurosurgical procedures such as tumor resection, deep brain stimulation and spinal surgery. From July 2010 until October 2012 Bram worked for Fraunhofer MEVIS as senior researcher. Bram Platel is now managing the Assure project on personalized breast cancer screening. Next to the management of this project, he has a research position which is focused on computer-aided detection and diagnosis for breast cancer and neuro applications. Bram currently supervises six PhD students in the DIAG.
