Inaugural lecture Geert Litjens

On April 4, 2024, Geert Litjens gave his inaugural lecture as full professor of AI for analysis of medical images in radiology and pathology. In the lecture, titled ‘Van tweede viool naar eenmansband: de toekomst van medische AI’ ("From Second Fiddle to One-Man Band: The Future of Medical AI"), Geert highlighted the accomplishments he and his team had made over the course of his career. Next, he showed the potential future of using AI in pathology and radiology, focusing on integrating diverse types of medical data, and explored the potential of multimodal AI.
