Michel Vitale is a PhD Candidate in the Diagnostic Image Analysis Group (DIAG) at the Medical Imaging Department and at the Scientific Center for Quality of Healthcare (IQ Healthcare) of Radboud University Medical Center. In September 2023, he joined MERAI lab, an ICAI Lab between the partners Radboudumc and MeVis Medical Solutions, working under the guidance of Marianne Boenink, Mathias Prokop, and Colin Jacobs. His research focuses on investigating the ethical, legal, and societal implications of AI-enabled low-dose CT lung cancer screening.

Before joining MERAI lab, Michel obtained his Master’s degree (cum laude) in Philosophical Sciences from the University of Milan, specializing in ethics of artificial intelligence. His past affiliations include the University of Barcelona, where he studied at the Philosophy department for one year during his Master’s.
